Wharf Widening, 1978
Work continues on Monterey's Wharf No. 2 widening project on August 17, 1978. Workers were required to wear protective mask and gloves after an arsenic compound used to treat the wood on the wharf caused the entire five-man crew of pile drivers to become ill. (Monterey County Herald)

Native Dance, 1969
Richard T. Johnson Jr., 10, in traditional Shawnee costume during a native Amercian dance demonstration on December 10, 1969. Johnson Jr., is the son of Sgt. 1.C. Richard T. Johnson who is staioned at Fort Ord. Johnson teaches his six children how to speak the native language and teaches them the various dances to keep the Shawnee culture alive.
