Operation Surfboard, March 21, 1955

Members of the 38th RCT make their beach landing in San Simeon with over 5,000 U.S. Navy and U.S. Army personnel during Operation Surfbaord on March 21, 1955.  Operation Surfboard consisted of 50 ships from the Amphibious Assault Force and participated in the amphibious assault landing of 5,000 troops of the Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at San Simeon Bay.
