Phil, for those who don't know, was one of the most popular voices on the radio at the time. He had been Jack Benny's bandleader, and a character on Benny's radio show. He married singer / actress Alice Faye, and the pair had a hit "I Love Lucy" style radio program together into the 50s.
ReplyDeleteHarris went on to voice Baloo the Bear for Disney's The Jungle Book and the animated Thomas O'Mally cat in the Aristocats.
