  1. Wow, that picture sure does bring back a lot of memories. I sure do miss his brand of leadership in the GOP. I knew the man personally and loved everything about him. The left branded him as a War Hawk during the campaign using phrases like "I'd bomb them back to the stone age" referring to North Vietnam, when that was not his quote. He stood for a strong Military but to be used as the "Big Stick" when speaking softly at the negotiating table. (a reference to Teddy Roosevelt) He also stood for a Woman's right to choose what she does with her body, and a Gay man's right to serve in the military. He stood most firmly for the States right to govern their own people in the best way for that State. All these Federal agencies would drive him nuts, and he would tell us so without hesitating. Honesty, Integrity, Articulate, Charismatic, a great negotiator, Faithful without being pushy about it (he was Half Jew and Half Episcopalian), and a brilliant deep critical thinker. He could tell you to go to Hell and you would be looking forward to the trip. Sure do miss the Father of Conservatism. We will need to get back to his brand of conservatism to be able to call ourselves the Grand Ol Party again. I have hope that we will be able to, and it will be a great day for America.
