Alvarado St. 1958-2009



Alvarado Street in Monterey during the 1958 urban revitalization project juxtaposed to a present day photo from approximately the same location. Notice the demolition of The Keg, where Cibo Restaurant is located today. Wells Fargo Bank and the State Theatre are noticeable in both photos.

    Sure that the 'before' picture is 1958? Looks more like 1968.

    I wish They Never Touched DOWNTOWN Monterey. I grew up Walking downtown as a kid DOWNTOWN is Not MONTEREY anymore
